In June 2016, I teamed up with my friend and fellow creative Zoe Slee, who is an amazingly talented ceramic artist! We wanted to create something that was a bit abstract that merged floral elements with ceramics in a wearable way. And we wanted to capture our work through Photography - you know I can't resist a photo shoot haha!
The shoot was in my home City of Canberra - my first interstate photo shoot! Our location was the Mount Stromlo Observatory, which was severely burnt out by the bushfires a couple of years back, and all that remains now is a shell of a building which overlooks the stunning Brindabella mountain ranges. We teamed up with Lauren Gibson (Photographer), Bronte Sinclair (Model) and Jaimee Storrier (Hair and Makeup) and created a series of 6 hair pieces that bordered on the abstract and wild, to the petite and romantic.
Excitingly, we submitted the images to Promo Mag NYC earlier this year and I got such a thrill when they responded less than 20 minutes of us submitting saying that we had been accepted for their Spring Essence online magazine and they wanted to do an Exclusive Cover Story on us as well! It is amazing what you can achieve, when you team up with like minded, creative individuals! These images blow me away every time I see them. Enjoy Flower Lovers x
